Lauren Shoolman
Lauren was born with the dance gene, which started to develop into her life’s passion at the age of four. She has fourteen years of competitive tap and jazz training from Dance Sensation and continued to train in various disciplines for over twenty years in ballet, modern and different genres of hip-hop. She attended national and international workshops and trained with prominent dance teachers such as Savion Glover, Linda Garneau, David Cox, Guss Giodano, Patsy Swayze, Marc Kimelman and the Fantastic Poppers.
In addition to Lauren’s performance experience at numerous corporate and private events, some of Lauren’s fundraising work includes ensemble roles in Little Shop of Horrors and West Side Story for the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation and dancer/choreographer for FACE and BAC2Fashion charity events. She performed and choreographed for a national accounting firm’s recruitment video and gala event, danced and choreographed for the music video of R&B group, Caramel City, cast as a dancer extra in the movie, Take the Lead, and was co-founder of Vibe hip-hop performance group. Lauren has also choreographed for the Huron Heat dance team and guest taught at various dance studios.
Lauren graduated from the Claude Watson Dance Program at Earl Haig Secondary School before completing her business degree at York University. She is dedicated and committed to achieving positive results for the community through the arts and is extremely excited to be part of the vibrant and talented HoneyKats Dance Company with Dance Kraze Productions!
